Sanyu Sooppiyaragath

Sanyu joined 4 Life Physiotherapy in October 2025. He is a senior physiotherapist with a Masters degree in Advanced Physiotherapy, and over 7 years of clinical experience.

He completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree in India, and went on to do a Masters degree in Advanced Physiotherapy, with a speciality in Musculoskeletal Medicine in the UK.

He also has an Advanced Certificate in Dry Needling.

Sanyu has a special interest in anything musculoskeletal (joint/muscle/bone related), and is a strong advocate for treatments incorporating a holistic approach, using a combination of manual therapies, progressive loaded exercise, and simple lifestyle changes.

Being a lifelong athlete (with the associated injuries) and paired with his professional background, Sanyu is well positioned to both empathise as well as diagnose and help you manage any injury.

Helping people improve their quality of life is what keeps him going!

4 Things you might not know about Sanyu:

  1. Sanyu is Trilingual, fluent in English, Malayalam and Hindi
  2. He used to be an amateur boxer, but transitioned to badminton when turning up to work with a black eye became too awkward
  3. Ironically, Badminton has given him way worse injuries than boxing ever did! ACL ruptures, meniscal tears, rotator cuff pathologies, hamstring tears, stress fractures, tendinopathies, you name it he’s had it! That’s also why he knows the best ways to treat them!
  4. He is a certified Yoga Instructor and used to teach in India, but now mostly keeps it a secret!
