What Is An Exercise Physiologist?
An exercise physiologist is an Allied Health professional who specialises in the benefits of exercise to help patients get fitter for all around good health, or to prevent, treat and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions or injury, through exercise.
Exercise physiologists can assist with the treatment of medical conditions such as diabetes, arthritis, obesity, cancer, osteoporosis, depression, asthma and cardiovascular diseases, as well as many other conditions.
Exercise Physiologists are much more than just a personal trainer. Our Accredited Exercise Physiologists are university trained specialists and have a wide range of knowledge about the human body and the benefit that exercise has on it, both mentally and physically. They can prescribe exercises for either fitness or rehabilitation. They can also advise on behavioural modification programs.
