Amelia joined 4 life Physiotherapy in May 2024 after completing her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Curtin University. Her main interests are in Musculoskeletal, Neurology and Disability Physiotherapy.
Amelia’s initial interest in Physiotherapy was to understand the mechanisms of pain and learn strategies to better support patients dealing with acute and ongoing pain. She has worked as a Sports Trainer/ Physio Assistant for Footy and Rugby Union over the course of 5 Sports seasons. She uses various methods such as manual therapy and providing self-management strategies.
Her curiosity for supporting patients with Disability and Neurology Rehabilitation grew as she was exposed to various jobs in the field, including, 2 years as a part-time Disability Support Worker in the community, volunteering for a Paediatrics Cerebral Palsy research project, and internships at the hospital wards dealing with Acute Stroke and Acquired Brain Injury rehabilitation. She uses goal setting with the aim of improving function in patient’s daily lives.
